Pronunciation for Effective Communication

Are you often asked to repeat yourself whilst communicating with your peers?

Do you hear phrases like “pardon me?”, “sorry, what was that”, or worse still people cutting you off mid-sentence when you are trying to deliver a point.

These are all indicators of people struggling with your pronunciation.

As a result, your audience switches off – not because what you are saying is not interesting or valid but because they find it too difficult to understand what you are trying to say.

Correct pronunciation is not losing your accent; your accent reflects your culture and the last thing you want to do is to lose that.  It defines who you are.

This workshop will help you become fluent in English and completely understood so people can listen to you for lengthy periods.

In the Workshop:

You will be practicing, under expert guidance, the areas YOU need to improve on for clear communication

The Outcomes:

You will gain an understanding of the differences between your native language and English

You will gain knowledge about changing your pronunciation

You will learn what is necessary for fluency

Ian Stanford has a degree in adult education with post graduate qualifications in ESL (English as a Second Language) and specializes in teaching for the IELTS test and pronunciation.

Your knowledge and experience will continue to develop with every additional training opportunity.
This event is one of many educational experiences within the 'Central Division Education and Training Calendar'.

Workshops are coordinated by the Training and Education Coordinator (SA) Fiona Stopp.
